Events
What happens during a thermostat event?
-
During an event, your thermostat will be adjusted by up to 4 degrees above or below your current setting for no more than 4 hours.
- Sometimes, your thermostat may pre-cool or pre-heat your home before an event starts to help you stay comfortable—though this may not happen if the event is urgent.
- Events can take place year-round from 6 a.m.–10 p.m. on non-holiday weekdays or weekends.
How will I know that a temperature adjustment is in progress?
-
Depending on your thermostat provider, notifications will appear on the thermostat or in your web/mobile application.
Will these adjustments affect my comfort?
-
No, adjustments are small, and your comfort is always the priority. You can opt out of any event at any time through your thermostat, app or web browser.
Can I opt out of an event?
-
Yes, absolutely. You’re always in control and can opt out of any event from your thermostat, mobile device or web app.
How will my thermostat be adjusted?
-
At the start of a conservation event, your thermostat will be automatically adjusted up to 4 degrees or less above the current temperature setting.
-
We may pre-cool your home during weekday events by lowering your thermostat by up to 3 degrees to increase your comfort during an event. This will happen before 3 p.m. For weekend events pre-cooling will occur immediately before the event start time.
-
The event will typically last no more than 3 hours. Once the event is over, your thermostat will return to its previous setting.
-
You always maintain control of your thermostat. If during the event you no longer wish to participate, simply change the temperature setting on your thermostat to automatically opt out.
Incentives
What do I get for enrolling?
-
You’ll receive a one-time $50 Virtual Visa® Prepaid Card after you successfully enroll in the program. Limit up to two devices per household.
When will I get my $50 Virtual Visa Prepaid Card?
-
Your Virtual Visa Prepaid Card will be sent to the email address associated with your thermostat registration within 60 days of being accepted into the program.
How do I earn the $25 Virtual Visa Prepaid Card annual reward?
-
As long as you remain actively enrolled in the program and participate in 70% of event minutes, you’ll receive a $25 Virtual Visa Prepaid Card following the summer season. The $25 Virtual Visa Prepaid Card will be sent to the email address used to register your smart thermostat. Limit up to two per household.
If I replace my thermostat, can I get another $50 reward?
-
No, the reward is limited to one per household. However, you’ll still be eligible for the $25 annual reward as long as your new thermostat qualifies you to remain in the program.
When and how can I expect to receive my incentive?
• Incentive payments for performance will be made by end of March of the following year, paid as checks. Please be sure to give your correct address when enrolling so that your incentive goes to the right place.
Events
What happens during a charging event?
How does the program work?
- After you enroll, you’ll keep plugging in and charging at home the same way you do now. Entergy Louisiana will reward you for charging between the off-peak hours of 9 p.m.–6 a.m. and any time on the weekends or holidays.
- To be eligible for the monthly incentive, you must have at least 80% of your charging during off-peak hours each month.
- These recommendations help reduce strain on the grid and lower emissions. It’s always your choice whether to follow them, and your EV will still charge to the level you set.
Can I opt out of recommendations?
-
Yes. You’re always in control of when and how you charge. If you don’t want to follow a recommended time, you can simply ignore it and charge as usual.
What happens if my EV or charger loses its Wi-Fi connection?
-
Your device needs to stay connected to Wi-Fi so Entergy Louisiana can ensure that you’re still participating and eligible for rewards. We recommend confirming that your device has reconnected in the event of Wi-Fi disconnection.
Incentives
What do I get for enrolling?
-
You’ll receive $7 per month for charging during the recommended charging times. These rewards are our thanks for helping Entergy Louisiana encourage smarter charging and reduce stress on the grid.
When and how can I expect to receive my incentive?
- Ongoing participation payments are issued twice a year, in April and October, by Virtual Visa Prepaid Card. You’ll get an email with instructions to access and use your card whenever a payment is sent. This email will be sent from entergysolutions@redeem.greatergrid.com. Please be sure to give your correct email address when enrolling so that your incentive goes to the right place.
-
To be eligible for the monthly incentive, you must have at least 80% of your charging during off-peak hours each month.
Events
What happens during an event?
- Events can be called any day of the week throughout the year. Events will last no more than 3 hours.
How can I ensure that I’ll still have backup energy if I need it?
- Entergy Louisiana will not call events if a severe storm is forecast to ensure customers’ battery storage systems can be utilized for backup power if needed.
- In addition, some battery vendors can help you configure your system to limit how much your system will discharge during events. Please note, however, that limiting discharge levels will affect how much your system will earn.
Can I participate if I have a battery storage system only (without solar)?
-
Customers who don’t have a renewable energy system but do have an energy storage system that charges from the electricity grid may participate in Entergy Solutions.
Do I need to maintain an internet connection to my energy storage system?
-
Yes. If we cannot communicate with your energy storage system or if your energy storage system cannot discharge when needed (due to a maintenance issue), the incentive paid will be affected.
Incentives
What do I get for enrolling?
-
By installing a new battery and applying for the program within 6 months of installation, you earn up to $1,000 per customer. Customers are rewarded $75 per kWh in installed capacity. For example, if a customer purchases and installs a battery with 10kWh capacity, they would be eligible for a $750 reward. The installation reward is capped at $1,000.
What is the incentive for participating?
-
By enrolling and participating in the program, you can earn $125 per average kW used throughout the year. On average, customers typically earn up to $600 per year in this program.
How much can I expect to earn?
- Your payment will be based on your average power contribution during peak events. A typical home battery could earn up to $600 for the year.
- Note: Battery system performance will vary based on size, configuration, internet connectivity and other factors. Please contact your battery storage system vendor or installer for more information about your battery’s expected contribution and the incentive you can expect to earn.
When and how can I expect to receive my incentive?
-
Participation incentive payments for performance will be made annually by January 31, paid as a Virtual Visa® Prepaid Card. This Virtual Visa Prepaid Card will be sent via email from entergysolutions@redeem.greatergrid.com. Please be sure to give your correct email address when enrolling so that your incentive goes to the right place.
