EV Off-Peak Rewards Program
- The EV Off-Peak Rewards Program lets EV drivers earn rewards while supporting a sustainable, more reliable electric grid. By enrolling, you can follow recommend charging times that put less stress on the grid. You stay in control — you choose your charge level, and you can always decide whether or not to follow the recommendations.
- After you enroll, you’ll keep plugging in and charging at home the same way you do now.
- EV Off-Peak Rewards recommends charging during the following period:
- During the summer season from June 1st – August 30th weekdays charging from 12 midnight – 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 12 midnight
- During the winter season from December 1st – February 28th or 29th weekdays charging from 12 midnight - 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. - 12 midnight
- Or charging at any time during weekends and select holidays (New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
- You must charge within these off-peak windows 80% of the time in order to receive your $10/month incentive.
- These recommendations help reduce strain on the grid and lower emissions - It’s always your choice whether to follow them.
-
The program works with certain EVs and Level 2 smart chargers. To participate, your device needs to be connected to Wi-Fi and linked to your manufacturer’s account. Check the eligibility chart for the most up-to-date list of supported devices before you apply.

- You can participate in two ways:
- By using an eligible Level 2 charger, or
- A supported EV that connects directly through its built-in telematics system.
- Both options allow you to participate in EV Off-Peak Rewards.
-
After you apply, EV Off-Peak Rewards will send you an email confirmation. This can take up to four weeks. If more information is needed to complete your enrollment, we’ll email you with any next steps.
-
By charging your EV at least 80% of the time within the off-peak windows, you’ll earn $10 per month. You can make up to $60 by participating in the summer and winter seasons.
- The Program run July-May in Year 1, June-May in Years 2-3, and June onward in Year 4, offering $10 per participating month during on-peak seasons- with a maximum incentive of $60 per eligible program year.
-
The reward is sent as a Virtual Visa® Prepaid Card. Ongoing participation payments are issued twice a year and sent by the 30th of the month following the end of the season. You’ll get an email with instructions to access and use your card whenever a payment is sent.
- Yes. You’re always in control of when and how you charge. If you don’t want to follow a recommended time, you can simply ignore it and charge as usual.
- Your device needs to stay connected to Wi-Fi so EV Off-Peak Rewards can verify charging sessions are conducted off-peak. If your EV or charger goes offline, you’ll still be able to charge as usual, but the Program won’t be able to verify off-peak charging sessions. To ensure you’re still participating and receiving rewards, we recommend confirming that your device has reconnected in the event of Wi-Fi disconnection.
