Orange & Rockland Utilities will send signals to the inverters that control batteries to reduce peak energy use, reduce air pollution, and lower electricity costs.
Earn incentives
Earn for helping to reduce stress on the grid, you will earn $50 per average kW performed throughout the summer! Customers earn an average of $180 per summer. Actual incentives depend on the battery storage system size and performance.
Home batteries can help you store clean energy generated by a home solar system, or simply provide backup energy in case you need it.
By enrolling in the Orange & Rockland battery program, you will be paid for allowing Orange & Rockland Utilities to use the energy stored in your battery at times of high demand. On average, customers earn $180 per year in this program. However, actual incentives paid are based on the performance of battery storage systems during peak events. How well a battery storage system performs depends on the battery storage system size, configuration, and internet connection. Please consult with your battery storage system installer to estimate your incentives.
