When you discharge your battery during high-demand conservation events, you help ensure a reliable power supply and earn incentives for your contribution.

Every time your battery helps during a high-demand event, SRP tracks how much extra energy it delivers. Twice a year, you’ll earn $55* for each kilowatt of extra capacity your battery contributed.

About the SRP Battery Partner™ program

Your home battery can do more than store energy. It can help you save money and support a more reliable grid. By enrolling in the SRP Battery Partner program, you’ll earn incentives for sharing extra battery capacity during specific times of high demand, all while keeping backup power available when you need it.

 

Program highlights

  • You’ll receive helpful alerts when your battery’s performance could be better aligned with your SRP price plan, giving you the opportunity to shift discharge to higher-cost hours and increase your savings. By storing solar or off-peak grid energy and using it during on-peak times, you can reduce your monthly bill and support a more efficient grid.
  • By sharing extra battery capacity during high-demand events, you’ll help support the grid and earn incentives. SRP’s event strategies are designed to align with your price plan—so your battery continues to cover your on-peak hours, helping you save money while contributing additional energy when it matters most.
  • One of the benefits of your battery system is that you do not need to prepare or change anything during the event.
  • You likely won’t notice the event when it occurs, and your system will perform automatically, but participants can opt out of events or the program at any time.
  • SRP will never discharge your battery below 20%, preserving backup power.
  • You’ll earn $55 for every kilowatt (kW) of extra battery capacity your system delivers during high-demand events. Incentives are paid twice a year — once at the end of the summer season and once at the end of the winter season — as bill credits on your SRP account.   • In addition to performance incentives, participants will continue to receive export compensation for the energy sent to the power grid under their current SRP price plan.
