Georgia Power Small Commercial Flex DR Pilot FAQ

Program Overview
What is the Georgia Power’s Small Commercial Flex DR Pilot?
  • The Small Commercial Flex DR Pilot is a voluntary pilot program for Georgia Power’s small business customers with eligible smart thermostats. Throughout the year, during times of high energy demand, Georgia Power may make small, temporary temperature adjustments to enrolled smart thermostats. These adjustments help ease pressure on the grid, reduce the use of less efficient power sources, and support a better energy future — all while keeping energy costs stable for everyone.

  • Adjustments are limited to 4 degrees or less and last no more than 4 hours. Events will occur from June 1 – September 30th and November 1st – March 31st.

  • Events will only be called during weekdays, and never overnight, on weekends or holidays.

  • BYO participants with existing qualified thermostats will receive a one-time check for $150 after successfully enrolling in the pilot program.

  • Direct Install participants enrolling through Georgia Power’s Small Business Energy Savings (SBES) Program will receive an incentive equal to 30% of smart thermostat install and equipment costs. The SBES Program will cover the remaining 70% of install and equipment costs.

  • Direct Install participants enrolling outside of Georgia Power’s Small Business Energy Savings (SBES) Program will receive an incentive equal to 100% of smart thermostat install and equipment costs.
