About the PECO Flex & Save Rewards Program

Home batteries do more than provide backup power — they can store energy when your home needs it, and they can also discharge stored energy when demand for electricity is high.

By enrolling in PECO’s Flex & Save program, you’ll earn incentives for allowing PECO to use the energy stored in your battery during seasons of high demand. The summer season runs from June through August and the winter season runs from January through February. This shared energy helps keep the grid balanced and supports the increased use of renewable power across your community.

Most participants can earn an average of $480 per year, but actual incentives vary based on your battery’s performance during each season. Performance depends on factors such as battery size, configuration, and maintaining internet connectivity. Please contact your battery storage system manufacturer for more information about your battery's expected performance and the best estimation of your incentive based on your battery system. Your payment will be based on the average power contribution, in kilowatts (kW), of your battery system throughout all event hours.

The example provided below is for illustrative purposes only. The average kW discharged will vary based on your battery system. In the below example, the customer has a battery system of 10 kW capacity.

Example Rewards Scenario: 

Season	Average kW discharged during peak period	Potential Rewards
Summer	2 kW discharged	2 kW x $80* = $160
Winter	4 kW discharged	4 kW x $80* = $320

 “Reward” of $80/kW is based on the average kW reduction delivered by participant’s battery system across all Adjustment Event hours during a season. To be eligible for a reward, participants must remain enrolled through the applicable season, have a battery system approved by PECO’s Green Power Connect (GPC)team, and not be enrolled in Time-of-Use (TOU). There are two seasons per calendar year: summer (June 1 to August 31and winter (January 1 to February 28 or 29). Program funds are limited and subject to availability. Reward amounts and program terms are subject to change, including termination, without prior notice.

Final incentive amounts will vary on several factors with a few being the power capacity of each system, system configuration, length of the event, maintaining internet connectivity and the average performance delivered throughout the season.
