Entergy Texas EV Demand Solutions program

What is the Entergy Texas EV Demand Solutions program? 
 

  • EV Demand Solutions is a program offered by Entergy Texas, designed to help EV owners earn money while charging at home and encourage EV charging off peak during the summer season. By participating in the program, you are helping Entergy Texas manage energy demand on the electrical system during peak hours, which occur when energy usage dramatically increases. EV Demand Solutions seeks to take some of the strain off the grid during those busier times of the day to avoid costly upgrades to the electrical system, helping Entergy Texas maintain reliability and affordability for all of its customers.

    • Off-peak hours are defined as 7 p.m - noon the following day, during weekdays. These hours are more beneficial to the grid for EV charging, particularly during the peak demand season.

  • With EV Demand Solutions, you can earn a $20 e-gift card for enrolling your qualifying electric vehicle or Level 2 charger and agreeing to charge during off-peak hours.

  • Earn a $20 e-gift card each additional month of participation for up to four months.

Can I charge during peak hours?

Yes, customers can opt out of participating as needed. However, repeated opt-outs may impact customers’ monthly rewards eligibility.

Which EV chargers qualify for the program?
See the chart below for eligible charging equipment. Your charger must be installed and activated with internet connectivity prior to enrollment. Your Wi-Fi connection and EV charger(s) must be connected to your EV charger manufacturer’s account. You must have an account with your EV charger’s manufacturer to enroll in the program. If you do not have one, you will need to establish an account prior to enrollment.

For more information about the charging equipment list above, please visit the manufacturers’ websites. Customers must have one of the chargers listed above to be eligible for the EV Demand Solutions program at this time. As chargers from other manufacturers become eligible, we will add them to the list.

Upon submitting my application, when will I be notified of my status in the program?
Entergy Texas will provide email confirmation of your status in the program. It could take up to four weeks to see an email confirmation of acceptance into the program.
How will I receive my program incentive?
The one-time $20 enrollment incentive will be issued in the form of an electronic gift card. If you remain in the program, you will receive a $20 e-gift card at the end of each month.

When should I charge my EV for maximum savings if I’m in the Off-peak Savings program?
After 7 p.m. CST to noon the next day.
